Warner Robins Unemployment Rate Drops Heading into the New Year

Georgia Labor Commissioner Bruce Thompson said Thursday that Warner Robins recorded an unemployment rate of 2.8 percent in November, down five-tenths of a percent over-the-month. A year ago, the rate was 3.0 percent.
 
“As we prepare to ring in a new year, Georgia’s future is bright, said Commissioner Bruce Thompson. “With holiday shopping and retail kicking back up, Georgia’s unemployment rates are dropping faster than holiday deals. Coupled with a soaring job market and a workforce ready to take on limitless opportunities, Georgia is well on the road to success.”

The labor force decreased in Warner Robins by 514 and ended the month with 87,218. That number went up by 1,342 when compared to November of 2022.

Warner Robins finished the month with 84,788 employed residents. That number decreased by 83 over-the-month and went up by 1,482 when compared to the same time a year ago.

Warner Robins ended November with 81,500, jobs. That number decreased by 300 from October to November and went up by 1,200 when compared to this time last year.

In November, initial unemployment claims decreased by 34 (-12%) in Warner Robins. When you compare November 2023 claims to November 2022, claims were down by 121 (-32%).
