Georgia Trend Names Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center a Top Teaching Hospital

Georgia Trend, a regional business publication, recently released its list of “Top Hospitals” which included Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center as one of the top teaching hospitals in Georgia.
Georgia Trend ranked the state’s Top Teaching Hospitals as follows:

Every year, Georgia Trend evaluates Georgia hospitals that participated in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Hospitals are ranked by the total performance score derived from clinical outcomes as well as efficiency and cost reduction.

Hospitals were grouped by similar size and mission to include the categories of: Teaching Hospitals, whose primary mission is teaching, regardless of size, and which are certified by the Association of American Medical Colleges Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems; Large Hospitals (250 or more patient beds); Medium Hospitals (100-249 beds); and Small Hospitals (less than 100 beds).
Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center offers five accredited physician residency programs and five fellowship programs. In addition, the hospital partners with a number of colleges, universities, and high school career programs to offer training to students entering various health care fields.
