Flint Energies Mourns the Passing of Director Arthur Head

Flint Energies is deeply saddened to announce the death of Arthur Head, longtime member of the electric cooperative’s Board of Directors.
The owner of Arthur Head, Inc. a general contractor firm specializing in home repairs, Head served on the Flint Energies board since 2005. Head replaced former Flint Energies director Willie Talton, who resigned the Board to serve in the Georgia House of Representatives. Head was an active member of the board's facilities and compensation committees and provided valuable insights and guidance to management and the board during his tenure. He also served as the Co-op’s Green Power EMC Advisory Board representative.
Head was familiar with Flint, serving prior to his Board appointment as a member of the Flint Energies Foundation which distributes members’ funds from Operation Round Up to support local community initiatives. He was also a long-time member of Flint’s nominating committee, serving for 19 years prior to his Foundation service.

A community leader, Head was Chairperson of Keep Warner Robins Beautiful 1999-2002 and Chairperson of the Middle Georgia Technical College Board in 2001. He was a board member of Middle Georgia Technical College from 1994-2003, and at the Hospital Authority of Houston County from 1993-2001. In addition, he served as an Optimist Volunteer Mentor at Pearl Stephens Elementary School and a Board Member in the Houston County Certified Literate Community Program (CLCP) and Houston County Drug Action Council (HODAC). He served the Salvation Army Advisory Council, the Northside High School Booster Club and was a coach at the City of Warner Robins Recreation Department for basketball, softball and baseball.
As part of his education, Head attended Warner Robins High School and Central Georgia Technical College. He attended with his family Little Bethel Baptist Church, where he was Chairman of the Deacon Board.
Head represented Area IV, Post 3 – Houston, Bibb and Twiggs counties.
Flags at Flint facilities will be lowered to half-staff until sunset on the day of his burial. Flags can be lowered to half-staff if a person has “made a significant civic contribution” as Mr. Head did, championing rural electrification in Middle Georgia for nearly 20 years on the Flint Board.
