Dr. Dana Wiggins Named as Assistant Superintendent of Student Services

The Houston County Board of Education has appointed Dr. Dana Wiggins as the next Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. Wiggins currently serves as the Director of School Operations for the Houston County School District. She will transition to this new role in April after the retirement of Dr. Zabrina Cannady.

As a product of the Houston County School District, I am grateful to give back and serve this amazing community.”
Wiggins is a native of Warner Robins and began her teaching career at Russell Elementary where she taught for seven years. In 2011, Governor Nathan Deal named Wiggins as a Georgia Master Teacher. She served as the Assistant Principal of Instruction at Quail Run Elementary before being named Principal in 2019. Wiggins has served as the Director of School Operations since 2022.
Wiggins graduated from Houston County High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Mercer University. She obtained a master’s degree from Walden University in reading and literacy and a specialist degree in educational leadership from Columbus State University. She completed her doctorate at Columbus State University.
She and her husband, Hayden, have three children, Dalton, a freshman at Houston County High; Harrison, a third grader at Quail Run Elementary; and Georgia Beth, who is 2 years old.
