Warner Robins Sees Marginal Increase in October Unemployment

Georgia Labor Commissioner Bruce Thompson said Thursday that Warner Robins recorded an unemployment rate of 3.3 percent in October, up one-tenth of a percent over-the-month. A year ago, the rate was 3.4 percent.
 
 “Georgia's unemployment rate remains below the national average, but businesses face growing pressure, including finding and retaining top-tier talent,” said Commissioner Bruce Thompson. “As we attract diverse companies across the state, we must remain focused on developing the skills needed to meet critical workforce demands without reallocating talent between industries. By prioritizing our labor force, we can further strengthen Georgia as a place where both businesses and individuals can thrive together.”

The labor force decreased in Warner Robins by 408 and ended the month with 87,864. That number went up by 1,605 when compared to October of 2022.

Warner Robins finished the month with 85,003 employed residents. That number decreased by 467 over-the-month and went up by 1,650 when compared to the same time a year ago.

Warner Robins ended October with 81,900, jobs, an all-time high. That number increased by 100 from September to October and went up by 1,800 when compared to this time last year.

In October, initial unemployment claims increased by 23 (9%) in Warner Robins. When you compare October 2023 claims to October 2022, claims were down by 224 (-43%).
