Mercer Law School’s Association of Women Law Students (AWLS) will host its annual Lauren Giddings 5K on Sunday, November 12 at Amerson River Park. Check-in will begin at 9:00 AM with the race kicking off at 10:00 AM. Day of race/walk-up registration and pets are welcome. To run (or walk) the race, you may visit Eventbrite at 7th Annual Lauren Giddings 5K. We welcome runners and walkers of all ages. Prizes will be awarded to overall male/female and first-place male/female in age groups: under 18, 18-34, 35-49, and 50+. Registration is $30 per runner. In case of inclement weather, there will be a back-up plan.

Lauren Giddings was a Mercer Law student and dedicated AWLS member who passed away in 2011. She was involved throughout the Law School and is remembered for her passion for giving back, including her diligence with the Public Defender Clinic. AWLS hosts a yearly 5K in honor of her love for running. Proceeds from this event will contribute to scholarships awarded to our most involved and academically dedicated graduating members of Mercer AWLS to supplement the costs of preparing for the bar exam.
