Bibb County Board of Education Achieves Exemplary Designation

Each year, the Georgia School Boards Association hosts a Board Recognition Program to honor the efforts of school boards across the state. Recently, the Bibb County Board of Education was notified that it received an Exemplary designation in this year’s program.
“With this new status, it reinforces what we already know, that our local board is committed to being the best version of ourselves in service to our community,” said Board President Dr. Juawn Jackson.
To receive this distinction, a school board must exceed expectations in several areas of evaluation, including board training, fiscal responsibility, ethics and other requirements. For instance, to receive Exemplary status, each board member must exceed state training requirements by at least three hours.
“As I think about this status, it communicates clearly that our board is positioned for us to have the right level of support and the right level of governance, guidance and leadership from our Board of Education,” said Superintendent Dr. Dan A. Sims.
