We believe education and training is essential to a healthy workplace environment. Macon Occupational Medicine (MOM) is partnering with Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) to provide you with a Reasonable Suspicion Supervisor Training and Workplace Violence Prevention Seminar.

We are fortunate to have Chris Manning, Associate Executive Director of the Council on Alcohol and Drugs, as one of our guest speakers. Chris has worked with businesses, government agencies, and non-profits, who employ millions to navigate complex drugfree workplace issues. This training is designed to educate supervisors on recognizing, documenting, and appropriately responding to signs of drug or alcohol use among employees in the workplace.

The Workplace Violence Prevention workshop is taught by John Williams, training and communications specialist at CGTC. He works with a variety of businesses to deliver programs to meet training needs, including OSHA 10 and 30 hour classes for General Industry. This course is designed to provide employers with an understanding of the problem of workplace violence, its causes and effects, and strategies for preventing and responding to violence.

These presentations will help us all be better prepared for the challenges of drug and alcohol uses in the workplace. It will also help us define and recognize warning signs of violent behavior in the work environment.

Our informative seminar will be in the Central Georgia Technical College "I" Building, Quad A. We're looking forward to seeing everyone on October 26th. The seminar will begin at 9:00 am and end by 12:00 pm. Lunch will be provided. The link to register is below.

If you have any questions regarding the seminar, please do not hesitate to reach out to Jonathan Pitts at [email protected] or (478) 751-2930.
