‘Called To Serve’ Tennis and Pickle Ball Tournament

Macon Volunteer Clinic (MVC) is pleased to announce registration is open for the ‘Called to Serve’ Tennis Tournament for women and Pickleball Tournament for women and men. The round robin tournaments are fundraisers for Macon Volunteer Clinic, and take place Monday, October 16, 2023 at Idle Hour Country Club. Donation fee is $75.00 per person. The maximum number of tennis players is fifty-two (52) and the pickleball tournament will be capped at thirty-six (36). Pickleball play will be limited by gender and level to eight (8) players each. Sign-in for the ladies tennis tournament opens at 8:30 a.m. and play begins at 9:30. Lunch is included with registration. Sign-in for the round-robin pickleball tournament opens at 5:30 p.m. and play begins at 6:30, with appetizers and drinks provided throughout.
A medical home to eligible patients, Macon Volunteer Clinic offers free primary care, dental care, non-narcotic prescription medication assistance, cancer screenings, gynecology, dermatology, orthopedics, neurology, laboratory analyses, x-rays and other diagnostic services and mental health counseling. MVC’s services are provided at no cost to Macon-Bibb and Twiggs County residents who qualify. Eligibility criteria are: (1) ages 18-64; (2) earn no more than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level; (3) have no medical insurance, and (4) be actively working. Patients are screened for eligibility before seeing a physician. Eligibility screening appointments are available weekly, and can be made by calling (478) 755-1110.
