The Safe Driving Summit will take place at Central Georgia Technical College in Macon, Ga. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023

WHAT: The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) and the Lutzie 43 Foundation’s Safe Driving Summits continue into the 2023-2024 academic year with the next scheduled event to be held for Macon, Georgia at Central Georgia Technical College in Macon, Ga on Wednesday, September 13. The partnership between the Georgia DOT and Lutzie 43 Foundation continues to educate young drivers about the dangers of distracted, impaired and unsafe driving through the Safe Driving Summit’s presenters and breakout sessions.

Students will hear from industry experts about how they can protect themselves and others on the road by practicing safe behaviors while traveling in a vehicle as a driver or passenger. A keynote presentation will be provided by those who have real-life stories of heartache and determination to share with audience participants and then the students will rotate through the breakout sessions led by safe driving experts and others, including:

Media are invited to attend the Safe Driving Summit and will have opportunities to interview subject matter experts from Georgia DOT, the Lutzie 43 Foundation, and breakout session presenters about the importance of driving safely and the significance of the Safe Driving Summits.
