Tuesday, September 26th, 2023
Wesleyan College is pleased to welcome Real IMPACT Center, Inc. to its historic campus as part of a partnership aimed to improve college readiness in the community while developing the leaders of tomorrow
Real IMPACT Center, Inc. will now be housed at the Porter House on Wesleyan College’s campus in North Macon. This move will allow space for girls to participate in innovative STEM programming while getting exposure to a college campus.
“Letting girls know from a young age that they have a home at Wesleyan College is essential to helping them see a path into higher education,” said Wesleyan President Meaghan Blight. “By bringing girls to campus early and often, we can help see a future in college, a future in STEM and a future as a leader in their community.”
With the creation of this new partnership, Wesleyan College will award an additional $5,000 scholarship towards tuition on top of a student’s merit scholarship to any three-year active member of Real IMPACT Center accepted to the institution. Wesleyan College will provide workshops for students and educators on the college admissions process, scholarships and financial aid as well as provide career development and academic training workshops throughout the year on a variety of topics
“We look forward to beginning this new partnership with Wesleyan College and to continue to grow our working relationship with the advancement of women in the forefront,” Real IMPACT Center founder Geneva West said. “It will be tremendously valuable to have another organization assisting in our mission of higher education readiness for our female leaders of tomorrow.”
