Evening of Hope will Feature Guest Speaker Vicki Lawrence

The Methodist Home for Children and Youth will host the annual Evening of Hope fundraising dinner on Thursday, October 5th, at 6:30 PM. The event will be held at the Rumford Center of The Methodist Home, located at 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon, GA 31210.
Evening of Hope will feature guest speaker, Vicki Lawrence, a multi-talented actress, comedian, and singer known for the many characters she originated on CBS’s The Carol Burnett Show. Vicki has multiple Emmy Award nominations, winning one in 1976. She is a multiple Golden Globe nominee, all for The Carol Burnett Show. Vicki’s hit song “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia” reached Number One on both the United States and Canada top charts. Today, Vicki spends her time as a member of the board of trustees for Miller Children’s Hospital; host of annual Walk for the Cure events; DARE honorary chair in Long Beach, CA and a public speaker for women’s issues and charities close to her heart.
Proceeds will benefit The Methodist Home, which provides residential care throughout South Georgia for children and youth who have experienced abuse and neglect. The Home also provides support for families in crisis through a variety of community-based programs.
