Piedmont Macon’s Alisha Neal Named to ‘Women CFOs to Know’ List

Tuesday, August 8th, 2023

Alisha Neal, Chief Financial Officer of Piedmont Macon Medical Center and Piedmont Macon North Hospital, has been named to the 2023 “Women Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know” list by Becker’s Hospital Review.

In all, 182 women across the country made the list, which honors female CFOs for skillfully handling financial planning, managing both annual and capital budgets, and cultivating strategic partnerships, according to Becker’s. Those selected for the list were nominated from within the healthcare industry, and the full list can be read here.

Neal, who has been CFO of Piedmont Macon since June 2021, is credited with helping the Piedmont system provide $1.4 billion in uncompensated care and community benefit programming to the communities it serves every year, according to Becker’s.

Providing community benefits to Middle Georgians is one of the best parts of her job, Neal said.

“In my two years here, we have integrated into a wonderful patient-centered system that is invested in providing quality care to Georgians,” she said.

The CFOs on this year’s list ensure that their organizations not only survive, but also thrive. Along with expertise in healthcare finance, these leaders bring their diverse experiences as women to their roles. Before arriving at Piedmont Macon, Neal spent six years at Ochsner Health, including more than two years as its CFO. She also worked for the University of Arkansas for Medical Services and St. Vincent’s Health System.

Neal said she’s proud of the work she and the other Piedmont Macon Medical and Macon North leaders have done in the two years since the hospitals joined Piedmont.

“Our community is in great hands with our team, and I’m proud to serve our community,” she said. “I look forward to accomplishing even more for our hospitals, our Piedmont family and the community as a whole.”
