Georgia Labor Commissioner Bruce Thompson said Thursday that Warner Robins recorded an unemployment rate of 3.1 percent in July, down three-tenths of a percent over the month. A year ago, the rate was 3.4 percent.
“Georgia’s labor market continues to stand strong as a beacon of hope and prosperity,” said Commissioner Bruce Thompson. “With low unemployment and plentiful job opportunities, local communities are thriving and showcasing remarkable resilience in the face of economic uncertainty.”
The labor force decreased in Warner Robins by 136 and ended the month with 87,396. That number went up by 559 when compared to July of 2022.
Warner Robins finished the month with 84,720 employed residents. That number increased by 206 over-the-month and went up by 832 when compared to the same time a year ago.
Warner Robins ended July with 80,900 jobs. That number decreased by 300 from June to July and went up by 1,100 when compared to this time last year.
In July, initial unemployment claims increased by 31 (9%) in Warner Robins. When you compare July 2023 claims to July 2022, claims were down by 180 (-32%).
