Georgia Labor Commissioner Bruce Thompson said Thursday that Warner Robins recorded an unemployment rate of 3.5 percent in June, up one-tenth of a percent over the month. A year ago, the rate was 3.6 percent.
"The bedrock of a thriving economy lies in maintaining low unemployment, but equally essential is striking the right balance between job growth and a capable workforce that can meet the evolving needs of Georgia’s industries,” said Commissioner Bruce Thompson. “This well-balanced approach ensures businesses of all sizes have the talent they need to grow and succeed."
The labor force increased in Warner Robins by 332 and ended the month with 87,463. That number went up by 131 when compared to June of 2022.
Warner Robins finished the month with 84,442 employed residents. That number increased by 246 over-the-month and rose by 264 when compared to the same time a year ago.
Warner Robins ended June with 81,200 jobs, an all-time high. From May to June, job numbers rose by 400. When compared to the same time last year, jobs were up by 1,500.
In June, initial unemployment claims decreased by 232 (-40%) in Warner Robins. When you compare June 2023 claims to June 2022, claims were down by 95 (-21%).
