Meredith Keating White has been appointed executive director for the Office of Campus Life and Student Involvement at Mercer University, effective July 1, announced Dr. Douglas R. Pearson, vice president for student affairs and dean of students.

Keating White has worked at the University since August 2017. She holds a master’s degree in higher education leadership from Old Dominion University and a bachelor’s degree in leadership development from Louisiana State University.

“I am pleased that Meredith agreed to take on this new role. She knows Mercer and has a solid track record of professional success,” Dr. Pearson said. “She quickly rose to the top of a national search with her demonstrated passion for student interaction and desire to take student programming to the next level. I am excited to see how she will grow this critical area of student life.”

Keating White most recently served as associate director of campus life and student involvement at Mercer. Prior to that, she served as assistant director of campus life and student involvement.

In these roles, she advised numerous campus organizations including QuadWorks, Mercer’s student activities board; Panhellenic Council; Leadership Mercer; Multicultural Greek Council; and Order of Omega. She oversaw the coordination of major campuswide events such as Homecoming Week and Bearstock, a spring concert and festival. She also encouraged regular collaboration between campus departments and student organizations, developed strong working relationships across campus, and provided support for Mercer’s fraternities and sororities.

“As executive director, I am enthusiastic about further developing initiatives like Family Weekend, student engagement in athletic events, and strengthening our fraternity and sorority community,” Keating White said. “I love being a Mercer Bear and a member of the Macon community, and I am excited to create a fun and engaging atmosphere for the student body and Macon area through this expanded role. I hope that campus life is a place where all students can find their collegiate home and signature Mercer experience.”

The Office of Campus Life and Student Involvement, which is part of the Division of Student Affairs, strives to enhance student life by promoting involvement and leadership in the Mercer and Macon communities. This mission is accomplished by providing educational, social and cultural campuswide programming through QuadWorks and by providing direct advisement for the governing bodies of Mercer’s chapters of Greek-letter organizations. The office also advises the Mercer Maniacs spirit group and student organizations, as well as houses student service and civic engagement initiatives.
