The Macon Pops Big Band will be closing out their 10th season with a "Swingin' Luau" on May 27th at the Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences Amphitheater. The “Hawaiian Swing Revisited” concert will feature the sounds of The Big Kahuna And The Copa Cat Pack, Matt & Steve’s Grammy-nominated Big Band, who took the Neo-Swing world by storm twenty years ago with their exciting brand of modern swing.

"We invite you to experience the vibe and energy of this music as the Macon Pops Big Band brings back those crazy days!" said Matt Catingub, renowned pops conductor and Grammy-award winning arranger.

Multi-Grammy nominated drummer and percussionist Steve Moretti has been working diligently to ensure a wonderful experience for the audience. "We pride ourselves on making every concert an experience, and this one surely will not disappoint!" said Moretti.

The concert will feature a “true luau culinary experience" prepared by Macon’s own Satterfield's, featuring a succulent whole hog, slow-roasted to perfection, a creamy, chilled macaroni salad with a tropical twist, a fresh and tangy slaw with smoked pineapple, and crispy and salty chips to round out your meal. Food tickets are on sale until May 19. Adult meal tickets are $20, and kids’ meal tickets are $10. Purchase a food ticket here: https://bit.ly/3HKNPTh

JBA will be on-site with a full bar, serving a signature tropical cocktail, and Kona Ice will be there as well, serving tropical shaved ice.

"We are no traditional orchestra," said Catingub. "At our concerts, instead of formal attire, tight-lipped audiences, and staying in your seat the entire time, get ready to have an exciting time dancing, having fun with friends, and experiencing some of the most popular music there is performed by an energetic orchestra led by Grammy award-winning musicians!"

Gates open at 4:00 pm, and the concert begins at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase here. Bring your chairs and/or blankets, and come early to enjoy the amphitheater grounds’ beautiful atmosphere and avoid traffic, as we expect this concert to be a sellout. Macon Pops looks forward to bringing a little bit of Hawaii to Macon for an unforgettable evening of music, food, and fun.
