Senior Art Exhibit Opening Reception at Wesleyan College

Wesleyan College will present an art exhibition featuring the work of graduating senior art students with the opening of the exhibit on Tuesday, April 11 from 6-7pm at the East Gallery in the Porter Fine Arts Building. The show features the work of Wesleyan Studio Art majors Erika Durham, Nicole Gaddis, Erika Hendrix, Minjia Luo, Laura Oceguera, Anna Richards, and Kenda Underwood. 

The exhibit features a series of work created by each student as part of their Senior Seminar capstone. More information on each student's work is listed below. The exhibit opens on Tuesday, April 11 at and will be on display through May 2 on Wesleyan’s campus. 

Erika Durham

Hometown: Dry Branch, GA

“Ceramic Artwork”

Medium: Clay, Ceramics

Using clay to create a large vessel and to explore the impact of organic pattern and movement.

 

Nicole Gaddis

Hometown: Peachtree City, GA

"The Space in Between"

Exploring the fears and challenges of OCD through different life stages by utilizing insects as a vessel to represent certain emotions.

 

Erika Hendrix

Hometown: Jonesboro, AR

My work explores my personality through objects in overexposed and underexposed photos.

 

Minjia Luo

Hometown: Guangzhou, China

"Butterflies and Ribbons"

My work is about my mother. The butterfly is used as a character, and different objects are used to present the bondage to traditional marriage and behavior patterns, as well as the clash of ideas between my mother and me at different generations.

 

Laura Oceguera
