PACT Act Claims Processing Clinic Will be Held at Dublin VAMC 75th Anniversary April 22!
Friday, April 21st, 2023
The Dublin VA Medical Center will celebrate its 75th anniversary Saturday, April 22, with a public event from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. We're pleased to announce that a team from the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) will be on-site to process PACT Act claims for Veterans.
PACT Act claim benefits include healthcare eligibility, hundreds to thousands of dollars in monthly disability compensation, education benefits for spouses, aid and attendance, and much more!
The celebration will include presentations, entertainment, children’s activities, food, a car and motorcycle show, information about services and programs for veterans, and much more. Medical center director Manuel Davila extended an open invitation to everyone.
“We are a part of this wonderful middle Georgia community, so we want to make our 75th birthday a community event. This celebration will be historic, and we want our friends and partners in our community to share in it,” Davila said.
The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center was originally a U.S. Navy Hospital, with construction beginning in 1943 during the height of World War II and became a VA Administration Hospital in 1948.
Center for Community Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) chief Keith Griffin said that the event would be similar to the medical center’s highly successful fall festival that happened in November 2022.
“We’ll have a lot of interesting things for everyone to do, good food, and lots of info to help our veterans and their families. We expect the car and motorcycle show to be especially fun!” Griffin said.
The VA is expecting many local luminaries to attend, and the special guest will be Dr. M. Christopher Saslo, Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Saslo has oversight of all patient care and nursing services VA-wide.
Communications director for the Dublin VA Dr. Frank Jordan is encouraging everyone to join the VA for event.
“A seventy-fifth birthday only happens once, so we want everyone to load up their families and friends and come out to help us celebrate! It’ll be a lot of fun and everyone will get a chance to see what their Dublin VA has to offer America’s heroes. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there,” Jordan said.
