More Than 700 Students Set To Graduate At MGA’s Spring Commencement Ceremonies

More than 700 students are candidates for graduation at Middle Georgia State University’s (MGA’s) spring 2023 commencement ceremonies.

Five ceremonies will take place over a two-day period: Wednesday, May 10, and Thursday, May 11. All ceremonies will take place at the Recreation & Wellness Center on the Macon Campus and livestreamed at mga.edu/live.

Of the graduation candidates, 28 make up the charter class of MGA’s Doctor of Science in Information Technology. Another 93 are earning master’s degrees while 477 will be collecting their bachelor’s degrees. The rest are graduating with associate’s degrees or certificates in career programs.

Wednesday, May 10

1:00 pm - Commencement speaker: Tracey Blalock, Senior Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive of Atrium Health Navicent.

1:00 pm - Commencement speaker: Tim Lowrimore, State Forester and Director of the Georgia Forestry Commission.

4:30 pm - Commencement speaker: R.K. Sehgal, Atlanta Businessman, Engineering CEO, former Georgia Department of Industry, Trade, and Tourism Chairman.

The student speakers are the Class of 2023’s two President’s Scholars. George Gordon, a business administration major, will speak at Wednesday’s ceremonies. Tavius Clark, an education major, will speak at Thursday’s ceremonies.
