Coca-Cola Holding Clean Streets Matter Litter Pickup Event
Wednesday, February 8th, 2023
Macon Coca-Cola Bottling Co. associates will pick up litter and debris on the streets around its facility (1780 Jennifer Drive) location on Wednesday, February 8, beginning at 10:00 a.m.This is the second cleanup the company has held, and they will start at the facility and work on Chapel Drive, and the portions of Jennifer Drive and Rocky Creek Road in both directions from the facility.
“It’s truly amazing what our community can do when it works together as a team, including pitching in to make us more beautiful,” says Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Executive Director Asha Ellen. “Coca-Cola – along with many of our other businesses and neighborhood groups – have all joined together through Clean Streets Matter because they all recognize how important this is.”
The company has a Community Engagement Committee made up of associates that meets monthly to discuss how they can be more active in and supportive of the community. Being part of Clean Streets Matter was discussed in a recent meeting as one way they could support the area.
“Local relationships, personalized customer service, and community engagement have been the foundation of our business for more than a century,” says Tasha Christian, Officer Manager. “We believe our business can only prosper if the communities where we live, work, and serve are strong and vibrant, and it’s our hope the cleanup will inspire others to give back and volunteer.”
“It’s true that we’re all on the same team working toward the same goal, a cleaner, more vibrant Macon-Bibb, and I want to thank Coca-Cola for being a great employer and great member of our community,” says Mayor Lester Miller. “Thank you to the associates that chose to be part of Clean Streets Matter and picking up litter from our roads. Your service is greatly appreciated.”
“Our industry partners are more than just employers to us…they’re members of our team and community,” says Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority Executive Director Stephen Adams. “This says a lot about the culture of the company and the character of their associates, and I know it will help inspire others to get involved.”
