The Perry Chamber of Commerce was established in 1955 as the largest business organization in the Perry area. Since then, the Chamber has been holding an Annual Meeting to recognize people who have made outstanding contributions to the Chamber and the community. Currently, the Chamber gives awards for the following: Business of the Year, Business Woman of the Year, Business Man of the Year, Perry Diplomat of the Year, the James E. Worrall Volunteer of the Year, Golden Nail Award, and the Seabie Hickson Community Service Award. In 2023, the annual awards have been named “The Ollie Awards” in honor of Oliver Perry, the City of Perry’s namesake. During the annual meeting, outgoing board members are recognized and the gavel is passed to the new Chairman of the Board.
