Warner Robins Sees Rise in October Unemployment Rate

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Warner Robins recorded an unemployment rate of 3.2 percent in October, up four-tenths of a percent over the month. A year ago, the rate was 3.7 percent.
"Job seekers have continued to experience a favorable hiring environment across multiple job sectors, despite a slight uptick in unemployment rates," said Commissioner Butler. “As we prepare for peak holiday hiring, we encourage job seekers to take advantage of the many employment opportunities, both full-time and part-time, available across Georgia.”
The labor force increased in Warner Robins by 333 and ended the month with 87,161. That number went down 965 when compared to October of 2021.
Warner Robins finished the month with 84,347 employed residents. That number decreased by 79 over the month and decreased 551 when compared to the same time a year ago.
Warner Robins ended October with 79,800 jobs, an all-time high. From September to October, job numbers rose 600 and when compared to the same time last year jobs rose by 1,500.
The number of unemployment claims went down by 19 percent in Warner Robins in October. When compared to last October, claims were down by about 68 percent.
Employ Georgia, the GDOL’s online job listing service at employgeorgia.com showed about 1,633 active job postings in Warner Robins for October.
