Warner Robins Sees Drop in September Unemployment Rate

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Warner Robins recorded an unemployment rate of 2.8 percent in September, down four-tenths of a percent over the month. A year ago, the rate was 3 percent.

"We continue to see a steady rise in job creation and demand by employers to fill open positions,” said Commissioner Mark Butler. “This strong growth has led to Georgia having the fewest unemployed residents in over 20 years."

The labor force increased in Warner Robins by 196 and ended the month with 86,972. That number went down 63 when compared to September of 2021.

Warner Robins finished the month with 84,569 employed residents. That number increased by 598 over the month and rose 182 when compared to the same time a year ago.

Warner Robins ended September with 79,300 jobs. From August to September, job numbers were flat and when compared to the same time last year jobs rose by 1,800.

The number of unemployment claims went down by 19 percent in Warner Robins in September. When compared to last September, claims were down by about 2 percent.
