Houston County School District Seeks Nominations for 2022 Hall of Fame
Monday, September 19th, 2022
The Houston County School District is seeking nominees for the 2022 Houston County Teacher Hall of Fame. This program honors extraordinary teachers who made a significant difference in the lives of their students. While nominations are accepted year-round, only nominations received before September 30 will be considered for this year’s induction ceremony. Teachers who receive the Hall of Fame award will be recognized at a ceremony on November 3.
Those making nominations must submit an official nominating form, which can be found at https://www.hcbe.net/teacherhalloffame.
Specific criteria will be used to select the Hall of Fame inductees:
Must have at least 20 years of classroom experience in the Houston County School District
Must be retired from the field of education
Must have held a valid teaching certificate in Georgia
Must have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher
Once eligibility has been verified, the District will ask the nominee to complete an application packet that includes an essay on their philosophies of teaching. Teachers inducted into the Houston County Teacher Hall of Fame must have consistently sought to encourage, inspire, and motivate their students. In addition, nominees should have exhibited leadership, been enthusiastic about teaching and learning, worked well with colleagues, and demonstrated competency in their subject matter.
The first Teacher Hall of Fame ceremony was held in 2007. For a full list of former Teacher Hall of Fame inductees, visit https://www.hcbe.net/teacherhalloffame.
