Warner Robins Sees Drop in July Unemployment Rate

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Warner Robins recorded an unemployment rate of 3 percent in July, down three-tenths of a percent over the month. A year ago, the rate was 3.7 percent.

"This summer, we have seen unemployment rates drop while job numbers have climbed," said Commissioner Mark Butler. "As employers have worked to fill positions with the most qualified people, job seekers have taken advantage of the wide range of employment opportunities with more benefits and flexibility than ever before.”

The labor force decreased in Warner Robins by 610 and ended the month with 87,031. That number went down 626 when compared to July of 2021.

Warner Robins finished the month with 84,416 employed residents. That number decreased by 296 over the month and rose 17 when compared to the same time a year ago.

Warner Robins ended July with 78,700 jobs. From June to July job numbers decreased by 400 and when compared to the same time last year jobs rose by 900.

The number of unemployment claims went up by 26 percent in Warner Robins in July. When compared to last July, claims were down by about 56 percent.

Employ Georgia, the GDOL’s online job listing service at employgeorgia.com showed about 2,122 active job postings in Warner Robins for July.
