Monday, August 1st, 2022
Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Macon recorded an unemployment rate of 3.6 percent in June, up six-tenths of a percent over the month. A year ago, the rate was 5.2 percent.

Georgia ranked 3rd (out of 8) in the South Region and 18th nationally for lowest unemployment rate, with a preliminary seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 2.9 percent for June 2022 and had the second lowest unemployment rate among the top ten most populated states (Florida, 2.8%).
