Staff Report

Thursday, August 25th, 2022

The Houston County School District is seeking feedback from parents and students regarding additional areas of service and support. This assessment will gauge interest in a variety of areas related to the well-being of students. The Needs Assessment for parents can be found online. Students in grades 3-12 have also been asked to share their feedback and will complete the assessment at their school.

“The Houston County School District has always offered a wide range of services that focus on social, economic and emotional issues, but we are eager to hear the feedback from the parents and students themselves,” said Dr. Zabrina Cannady, Assistant Superintendent for Students Services with the Houston County School District. “We are expanding wraparound services for students in Houston County, with the hub for that expansion being the Lindsey Student Support Center. Continuing to support the growth of our students by providing meaningful services will positively impact the overall well-being of our students and encourage learning.”

The Needs Assessment focuses on five areas - Health and Hygiene, Stress and Well-being, Home and Family, Academic and Literacy, and College and Career. The deadline to complete the assessment is Friday, September 9th. For more information about the Needs Assessment, contact your child’s school.
