Celebrating Black Business Month with Fun & Educational Events
Wednesday, August 10th, 2022
The Office of Small Business Affairs (OSBA) is holding or supporting a series of informative classes, trainings, luncheons, and discussions in honor of Black Business Month in Macon-Bibb. This nationally-recognized event is to elevate shops and organizations owned and operated by African-Americans, while also providing support and resources to those businesses to help them thrive.
As part of this, OSBA will host a Technical Assistance Day from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, at City Hall (700 Poplar Street). Business owners, and those looking to become business owners, can visit with our OSBA team to learn about opportunities, how to get started, and how to navigate the procurement and vendor process within our Government.
“Not only do we want to uplift and promote Black-owned businesses in our community, we want to support them from the ground up,” says OSBA Director Charise Stephens. “We want to provide the resources and information they need at all stages of owning a business. Whether they’re just getting started or have been here for 50 years…we’re here to help!”
Also coming up from August 15 - August 21, stop by the OSBA office to pick up your Black Business Bingo Card. The more you shop and visit the businesses on the card, the more likely you are to get BINGO! Bring the card back, and you might win a prize.
See the flyer below for more information on upcoming events. We’ll also keep you posted on our Facebook page throughout the month. To get help for your business, OSBA is happy to help! Give them a call at (478) 751-7170.
