Crews from Paulk Landscaping – in conjunction with the Parks & Beautification Department and Georgia Department of Transportation – are hard at work beautifying Macon-Bibb County’s interstate interchanges.
Three interchanges along I-75 – Bass Road, Eisenhower Parkway, and Pio Nono Avenue – are getting better landscaping, including Nuttall Oaks, Evergreen Holly, Goldmop Cypress, Knock Out Roses, Pink Muhley Grass, and New Gold Lantana. Work is underway on the Eisenhower Parkway interchange and has been completed on the Bass Road interchange..
“We’ve taken significant steps to clean our major roads, intersections, and neighborhoods, and with this project, we will be more inviting to travelers and prospective businesses and residents,” says Macon-Bibb Mayor Lester Miller.
“I’m very excited we’re moving forward with this project; as you travel the state, the communities that take care of their gateways stand head and shoulders above everyone else,” says Parks & Beautification Director Michael Glisson.
“Consistency in landscape plant material reinforces that a visitor is in Macon-Bibb,” says Wimberly Treadwell, the Landscape Architect. “What we designed for these interchanges is consistent with the improvements in the Eisenhower Business Improvement District at I-475.”
