STARBASE ROBINS STEM Powered Girls and Super STEM Boys Adventure Summer Academies

STARBASE ROBINS will host STEM Powered Girls and Super STEM Boys Adventure Summer Academies for rising 6th-8th grade students on June 21-24 and June 27-30, 2022, from 8:45 am – 2:45 pm. The academies will be held at the Museum of Aviation in the Century of Flight Hangar. STEM Powered Girls and Super STEM Boys Academies are more than a summer camp. This is a year long adventure offering Saturday Sparks held in October 2022 and March 2023. Student in good standing with academy’s attendance and behavioral policy will not have to reapply for the 2023 summer academy. About STARBASE Adventure Summer Academies: STEM Powered Girls and Super STEM Boys Adventure Summer Academies are funded in part by the Georgia Space Grant Consortium and Mercer University STEM Education Innovation Lab. This experience provides girls and boys the skills and concepts needed to apply Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) through hands-on, inquiry-based learning. Upon acceptance into the summer academy, a $50.00 registration fee is required. Each applicant will answer the short essay using a minimum of 150 words and submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher. All entries must be received by Friday, April 29, 2022, for consideration. All applications received after the deadline will be added to a waiting list.
About STARBASE ROBINS: STARBASE ROBINS is a part of the Department of Defense premiere STEM education program. STARBASE ROBINS is sponsored by the Air Force Reserve Command. Our mission is to create an extraordinary educational and technological center for students and teachers to enjoy learning science and math. The program’s primary target interest is fifth grade students in surrounding counties. STARBASE ROBINS has been supplementing local schools STEM curriculum for the past 25 years.
