Staff Report

Monday, May 2nd, 2022

Bike Walk Macon, a nonprofit working to create a more bikeable, walkable Macon-Bibb County, hosts Macon Bike Walk Month each year in May by organizing several free events that celebrate biking and walking. The schedule of highlighted events below is curated to encourage people of all ages and skill levels to move and experience the benefits of biking and walking across our city throughout the month.

“Biking and walking is a growing form of transportation in Macon-Bibb County. These events are thoughtfully designed so Maconites can gather their friends and family to embrace this shift in a fun and friendly way,” says Bike Walk Macon executive director, Rachel Umana. “Not only is choosing to bicycle or walk better for the environment and our city, but it is also better for individuals. We hope that by giving biking and walking a try in May, people will be inspired to bike and walk more in our city year-round.”
