Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Heart of Georgia is getting their ducks in a row for the 6th Annual Ocmulgee Duck Dash, the organization’s signature fundraising event. This year’s event, sponsored by Cox, is revamped to include not one but two race days, allowing duck adopters the chance to win cash at both events. First prize both days is $1,000 and other cash awards for second and third place winners.

In addition to supporting the organization’s nationally recognized evidence-based mentoring programs throughout the area, a generous donor has also designated their ducks to over 54 partner schools in the region including Baldwin, Bibb, Houston, Peach and Twiggs county schools. The partner schools also have the opportunity to participate in the School Duck Challenge, giving each school the chance to receive an additional $500 to support their student activities.

“The Duck Dash is one of the most unique fundraisers in Central Georgia,” stated Betsy Fitzgerald, BBBS Heart of Georgia President & CEO. “The funds raised from this event are critical to us continuing to offer our programs free of charge to our families.”

Race days are May 14 at Rigby’s Water World in Warner Robins and May 21 on the Ocmulgee River at Amerson River Park in Macon. Races are scheduled to launch at 11 and the public is welcome to attend. Adopters do not need to be present to win. Ducks may be adopted for $10 by visiting:https://tinyurl.com/Ducks2022. Sponsorships are still available by calling 478-745-3984.
