Warner Robins Sees Rise in March Unemployment

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Warner Robins recorded an unemployment rate of 3.2 percent in March, up one-tenth of a percent over the month. A year ago, the rate was 4.2 percent. Despite this, Warner Robins saw a rise in the labor force, the number of employed, and job number in March.
“Across Georgia, we continue to see increases in the labor force, the number of employed, and the number of jobs,” said Commissioner Mark Butler. “With Georgia having the lowest unemployment rate of the top ten most populated states, we are pleased to see Georgians enter the workforce filling the many open positions available in all of our regions and counties.”
The labor force increased in Warner Robins by 98 and ended the month with 88,485. That number is down 199 when compared to March of 2021.
Warner Robins finished the month 85,637 employed residents. That number increased by 29 over the month and is up by 707 when compared to the same time a year ago.
Warner Robins ended March with 78,600 jobs. That number increased by 200 from February to March and is up by 1,600 when compared to this time last year.
The number of unemployment claims went up by 3 percent in Warner Robins in March. When compared to last March, claims were down by about 87 percent.
Employ Georgia, the GDOL’s online job listing service at employgeorgia.com showed about 2,020 active job postings in Warner Robins for March.
