Staff Report

Tuesday, April 19th, 2022

Macon Volunteer Clinic (MVC) will host its annual Volunteer Recognition Celebration, a/k/a DocStock, Thursday, April 21, 6:00 p.m. at Fall Line Brewing Co., 567 Plum Street in Macon.  The media are invited to cover this event.

Two ‘Healthcare Hero’ awards will be announced for distinguished service during 2021.

MVC will also recognize its President’s Volunteer Service Awards recipients for 2021.  This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.  Along with the honor of presidential recognition, these volunteers will receive a personalized certificate, an official pin, and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States.

Official pins are awarded in bronze, silver and gold which signify the number of hours served in the 12 month period.  Macon Volunteer Clinic has 10 volunteers who earned the Bronze pin, reflecting between 100-249 hours served in 2021.

“This is a joyous and momentous annual event for us,” states MVC Executive Director Nancy White, “because it celebrates our middle name and the power behind our mission.  Each volunteer helps advance our mission of fostering primary healthcare for all working adults in our community, regardless of insurance or ability to pay.”
