Historic Macon's Spring Flea Market Right Around the Corner
Wednesday, April 6th, 2022
WHO: Historic Macon Foundation
WHAT: Spring Flea Market
WHEN: VIP sale April 8; Open to the public April 9-10
WHERE: 357 Oglethorpe St.
Historic Macon’s warehouse is packed with new donations that volunteers collected all winter in preparation for the nonprofit’s spring Flea Market.
The 45th annual Flea Market will be held April 8-10 at HMF’s warehouse, located at 357 Oglethorpe St. Once again, there will be appointment-based shopping times for the public on Saturday and Sunday.
The weekend sale begins with a VIP shopping night, from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 8. Tickets are $75, which will provide two hours of shopping time, as well as refreshments.
The Flea Market opens to the public on Saturday, April 9, and Sunday, April 10, when entry is free. The Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday’s hours are noon-4 p.m. Shoppers must reserve a one-hour period to shop in advance.
To buy tickets for Friday’s event or to reserve a shopping time for Saturday or Sunday, go to historicmacon.org and click on the appropriate link. Members of Historic Macon get 15 percent off their Flea Market purchases.
Donations have been heavy on furniture, from chests of drawers and dining room tables to sofas and lounge chairs. But shoppers also will find everything under the sun, including artwork, holiday decor, garden accessories, lamps, antiques, linens, glassware, electronics, albums, bed frames — and much more. The semiannual Flea Market is HMF's largest fundraiser and helps fund its preservation mission.
Historic Macon also is partnering with the Loaves & Fishes Ministry for food collections. Shoppers are asked to bring at least two nonperishable items, such as dried goods — including cereal, macaroni products, snack bars — and canned goods, to help the ministry.
