Dr. Dana Wiggins Named Director of School Operations for the Houston County School District

Dr. Dana Wiggins was named Director of School Operations during the Houston County Board of Education meeting held February 8, 2022. Dr. Wiggins has been with the Houston County School District for 17 years.

Dr. Wiggins is a native of Warner Robins and began her teaching career at Russell Elementary where she taught for seven years. For the past 10 years, Dr. Wiggins has been at Quail Run Elementary and served as the Assistant Principal of Instruction before being named Principal.

“I am honored to serve Houston County as the Director of School Operations,” shared Wiggins. “I look forward to serving and supporting our school leaders and continuing our tradition of excellence. As a product of the Houston County School District, I am grateful to give back to this amazing community.” 

Dr. Wiggins graduated from Houston County High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Mercer University. She obtained a master’s degree from Walden University in reading and literacy and a specialist degree in educational leadership from Columbus State University. Dr. Wiggins completed her doctorate degree at Columbus State University.

She and her husband, Hayden, have three children – Dalton, a seventh grader at Feagin Mill Middle; Harrison, a first grader at Quail Run Elementary; and Georgia Beth, who is 10 months old.
