Department of Community Affairs CDBG Innovative Grant Program Announced

Monday, March 14th, 2022

The purpose of the Innovative Grant Program set-aside is to encourage projects that will result in transformational changes. While transformational means different things to different people, for the purposes of this grant set-aside, DCA is defining transformational as an individual or series of activities that will support long-term, systemic and sustainable change.  We feel this definition is broad enough to allow our local governments flexibility in defining what could be transformational.

In order to provide communities that can demonstrate their vision, strategy and commitment to transformational change, DCA will provide financial resources totaling $4,000,000 for Fiscal Year 2022.  Local governments eligible for the State’s non-entitlement CDBG program can apply for up to $2,000,000.

The application portal for the CDBG Innovative Grant Program is now available at https://gn.ecivis.com/GO/gn_redir/T/1sxd06ldm6ek0.

Pre-applications are due by April 1, 2022 by 11:59 PM ET.  Successful pre-applicants will be invited to submit a full application in May 2022 with final applications due by August 31, 2022 (11:59 PM ET).
