There are few locations that exist in Central Georgia where individuals are able to seek care in the form of IV hydration. Tonya Fitch has targeted this disparity by opening an IV lounge. ASTRE Wellness is one of the first of its kind in the Macon area. To commemorate ASTRE Wellness’ introduction into the community, a ribbon-cutting event will be held on the 24th of March at 10:00 am. The event, sponsored by the Macon Chamber of Commerce, will be held at 3902 Northside Drive, Suite A2, Macon, Georgia.  

Hydration therapy is a treatment by which patients receive a combination of vitamins and nutrients. Tonya’s motivation to open an IV hydration lounge stems from her father's PTSD and chronic pain from his service during the Vietnam War. Her father was getting treatment, however, his condition continued to deteriorate over the years. Her background as a certified registered nurse anesthesiologist kept her abreast of current medical trends, so she started to research how she could better help her father. 

As a result of her research, she discovered that dehydration and inadequate nutrition exacerbated his condition. In her quest to find a facility that would offer hydration treatments containing vitamins and minerals, she discovered the closest hydration lounge was two hours away. Realizing it was impractical for her father to travel that far every week, she opted to provide those services herself. She reasoned that such services would prove not only beneficial to her father, but to others. 

After two years of educating herself about IV hydration, Tonya located an ideal location for her lounge in October 2020, and immediately started renovation work. Unfortunately, her father unexpectedly passed away in December. His death sent her into a profound depression. Despite the deep sense of loss and determined to honor her late father’s memory, she decided to forge ahead in starting her business.  ASTRE Wellness opened three months after her father's passing.

Loosely translated, "Astre" means star. ASTRE's meaning alludes to the fact that navigators used stars to guide their expeditions. Geared with that same connotation, Tonya strives to guide people to health and wellness using the services provided at her IV hydration lounge.  

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many to pause and take a true assessment of their health. More people want to live healthier lives and do so in a more natural and holistic way. It is difficult for individuals to know where to begin. ASTRE Wellness provides an introductory starting point to a life of better wellness.
