Dr. Kristi-Lee Arrington Selected as Director of Student Services for the Houston County School District

Dr. Kristi-Lee Arrington was selected as the new Director of Student Services during the Houston County Board of Education meeting on February 8, 2022. Dr. Arrington has worked with the Houston County School District for 20 years.

“I am honored to continue my work in Houston County as Director of Student Services. There is no place I would rather live, work and lead than Houston County, where ‘All means All.’ This community is my family, and I look forward to continuing to serve them in this new capacity.”

Dr. Arrington is a native of Coventry, Rhode Island. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education and a minor in Psychology from Rhode Island College. She earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University and a Doctor of Education in Leadership from Valdosta State University.

Dr. Arrington began her teaching career in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Upon relocating to Houston County in 2002, she accepted a teaching position at Centerville Elementary School. Later, she had additional teaching opportunities at Miller Elementary School and Bonaire Middle School. Dr. Arrington also served as an itinerant autism and behavior support teacher, supporting students and schools throughout the District. For the last 15 years, Dr. Arrington has served as a Program Specialist for Student Services. 

Dr. Arrington added, “Ensuring our students are equipped with the resources they need to eliminate barriers to their success is my passion. I am excited to continue this work with the dedicated and exceptional professionals in the Houston County School District.”

Dr. Arrington is married to Shayne. They have five children including three adult children, Bailey, McKenzie, McCall and four grandchildren Sawyer, Izzie, Harper, and Crew. Additionally, their daughter Clara Mae is a sophomore at Perry High School and their son Jase is in the third grade at Matt Arthur Elementary School.
