The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia will continue their annual youth recognition event, Youth of the Year, through a virtual format. Premiering Thursday, January 27, the event will feature four finalists competing for the title of Central Georgia’s Youth of the Year. The finalists are Club members representing Clubs in Bibb, Houston, and Monroe county.

Presented by Cox Communications and Peach State Health Plan, this event will allow viewers to hear from each of the finalists as well as a word from keynote speaker WWE Hall of Famer, Titus O’Neil and musical guest Damien Horne. This year’s Youth of the Year event will be hosted by 13WMAZ’s Wanya Reese and Courteney Jacobazzi. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia will also present a Community Partner award during the event. Tickets to the virtual event are $15.00, the proceeds of which will go towards an $1,000 scholarship for the Youth of the Year Winner and continued Club support.

“It has been a pleasure getting to see how the Youth of the Year program has had an impact on our Club teens,” says our Carl D. Thomas Unit Director, Mr. Harold Hatcher. “This is a program that encompasses leadership and opportunity, it truly does lead to great futures. Over the years, I have seen our Youth of the Year winners go on to do great things and become great leaders in our community and beyond. This program is a foundation for success and a beacon of hope for the young people in our community.”

The virtual Youth of the Year event will be streamed online on Thursday, January 27 at 6:00 PM. Ticket and sponsorship information can be found at Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Georgia, Inc. - Youth of the Year 2022 (networkforgood.com)
