Recycling Demonstration Planned Ahead of New Collection Service
Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021
As we transition into using service from Ryland Environmental for all trash, recycling, yard debris, and bulk waste collections, we want to make sure everyone knows the right way to dispose of these items.
At 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, Ryland and the Solid Waste Department will hold a demonstration to showcase recycling. It’s happening in Commission Chambers at Macon City Hall (700 Poplar Street). Media is invited to attend the demonstration and conduct interviews. The public can see the demonstration live on Facebook and the Macon-Bibb website.
“We are taking the next several weeks to make sure the public has ample opportunity to learn about the new collection services, our commitment to a smooth transition, and how they can help our crews collect all the material efficiently,” says Mayor Lester Miller. “This past year has had its bumps for collection services, but we are taking the steps to make sure this necessary service is provided to people’s expectations.”
Last week, there was a demo on how to stage your yard debris and bulk waste for crews to pick it up. You can view the short Trash Talk video for yard debris here and bulk waste here.
