On Thursday, November 18, Macon-Bibb County Mayor Lester Miller will recognize Rutland High School graduate Savion Wright for his service in the United States Air Force and his selection as the Communities in Schools of Central Georgia Alumnus of the Year. This proclamation of “Savion Wright Day” will take place at 3:30 p.m. in the Professional Learning Center, located at 2003 Riverside Drive, and members of the media are invited to attend.

Wright graduated from Rutland in 2017 and, through the support of Communities in Schools, was able to enlist in the Air Force. He has since been deployed to Qatar and assisted with recent evacuations from Afghanistan before returning to the United States.
