Historic Macon's Fall Flea Market is this Weekend

Friday, October 1st, 2021

WHO: Historic Macon Foundation

WHAT: Fall Flea Market

WHEN: Preview Party and VIP shopping Oct. 1; Open to the public Oct. 2-3

WHERE: 357 Oglethorpe St.

Historic Macon’s warehouse is packed with new donations that volunteers collected all summer in preparation for the nonprofit’s fall Flea Market.

The 44th annual Flea Market will be held Oct. 1-3 at HMF’s warehouse, located at 357 Oglethorpe St. Once again, there will be appointment-based shopping times for the public on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend sale begins with a Preview Party and VIP shopping night, from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1. Preview tickets are $25, which will include dinner from Guitarras Mexican Food Truck, beer from Macon Beer Co. and wine from Macon Magazine.

Shoppers who want first crack at all of the items for sale can buy a VIP ticket. They’re $100, which will get shoppers into our warehouse at 5 p.m. for an hour of shopping before anyone else.

The Flea Market opens to the public on Saturday, Oct. 2, and Sunday, Oct. 3, when entry is free. The Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday’s hours are noon-5 p.m. Shoppers must reserve a one-hour period to shop in advance — just like earlier this year — because of continuing coronavirus concerns. Shopping periods have filled quickly, but there are some remaining for Sunday afternoon. Shoppers should bring a mask to wear while inside the warehouse.

To buy tickets for Friday’s event or to reserve a shopping time for Saturday or Sunday, go to historicmacon.org and click on the appropriate link. HMF members get 15% off their Flea Market purchases.

Donations in recent months have been heavy on furniture, from chests of drawers and dining room tables to sofas and lounge chairs But shoppers also will find holiday decor, garden accessories, artwork, lamps of all kinds, toys, antiques, linens, glassware, electronics, albums, bed frames — and much more — at unbeatable prices. The Flea Market is HMF's largest fundraiser.

Historic Macon also is partnering with Loaves & Fishes Ministry for food collections, asking each shopper to bring at least two nonperishable items, such as canned goods, to help the ministry.
