Macon Volunteer Clinic (MVC) is the grateful recipient of four recent grants provided through Navicent Health Foundation totaling $46,949.62.   Grants include two H.E.A.T (Heath Employees Achieving Tomorrow) grants to fund diagnostics and dental visits and two Foundation gifts to fund radiology and patient acquisition.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Navicent Health Foundation,” said MVC Executive Director, Nancy White.  “The Foundation’s support helps advance primary healthcare for over 500 patients annually, strengthening families, our workforce, and our community as a whole.  We are passionate about our mission of caring for the uninsured workers of Macon-Bibb, helping them manage and maintain their health while avoiding emergency rooms which are better utilized for true emergencies.”

The Navicent Health Foundation was chartered in 1973 to enable members of the community to provide philanthropic support for charitable, medical, educational and research projects for Atrium Health-Navicent.

Macon Volunteer Clinic was founded in 2003 to serve Macon-Bibb residents who are employed, uninsured, age 18-64, and earning less than 200% of the Federal Income Level.  In 2020 Macon Volunteer Clinic provided 5035 patient encounters for 504 patients, added 142 new patients and provided $2,178,439.00 in non-narcotic prescription medications.  Healthcare at the clinic is provided by over 250 active volunteers who are medical professionals, medical students or administrative personnel.

White added, “We are accepting new patients.  We hope uninsured workers call 478-755-1110 to schedule an appointment to determine eligibility.  For those who qualify, our services are at no cost.”
