Tim Echols, Vice-Chairman of Georgia Public Service Commissioner will visit the Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority on Tuesday, August 31 to conduct a press briefing and to ride one of MTA’s electric buses.
A longtime proponent of electric vehicles, several months ago the Commissioner traveled to Lancaster, California to the BYD (Build Your Dreams) plant which manufacturers MTA’s electric buses. Two of MTA’s electric buses currently are on the line at the plant with delivery expected in late 2021.
According to Commissioner Echols, “Electric vehicles provide a chain reaction of benefits. Beyond the significant reduction in carbon emissions there is substantial value in maximizing the efficiency of Georgia’s statewide grid.”
