The Local Love Box Teams Up With Local Creators for a Quarterly Box of Locally- Sourced Art

Wednesday, August 25th, 2021

The Local Love Box collaborates with local artists, artisans, and entrepreneurs to offer a quarterly subscription box that provides locally sourced goods and art to the community. At $55 per box, each quarterly collection features 4-6 locally sourced items that range from art, to home accents, to tasty treats. This quarterly subscription-styled service is designed to share the hand-made and home-grown goods of artists, artisans, and entrepreneurs from the area.

Conceptualized by Macon-based writer Rachelle Wilson, the Local Love Box launched in Spring of 2021 and is currently releasing its third box collection. Through a partnership with The 567 Center for Renewal, the Local Love Box has reached people through Central Georgia and beyond and to date has included art items from 17 unique local creators and redirected over $4,500 back into the local economy.

For those who want larger pieces of art, the Fall Box is also offering an upgrade option to what’s called a Super Box. The Super Box includes the items featured in the regular box plus a larger, custom art piece by a highlighted artist. Each season there are only 5 super boxes available, offered on a first come, first served basis. The featured artist for Fall 2021 is Warner Robins based artist Kevin “Scene” Lewis. Offering 11x14 acrylic paintings, Lewis is excited to be a part of the inaugural Super Box.

“The Local Love Box is a great initiative that I have been excited about supporting from the beginning,” said Lewis. “I am excited for the opportunity to have some of my artwork reach more people through the Local Love Box. I’d love to make somebody’s day with these original, custom paintings I am creating for the Super Box. I like to remind people that artwork doesn’t depreciate. Art creates culture and humanizes us. Art will save the world through the way it asks us to take down our facades and accept what the artist is trying to say. It generates empathy for those who let it into their lives. The Local Love Box is just one small way we can invite that piece of our community into our homes.”

Fall boxes are available now through August 31 on The 567 Center’s website. Purchased boxes will be available for pick up during a First Friday exhibit at The 567 Center on September 3 from 6:00-9:00 PM.
