Located in the heart of Georgia at the intersection of Interstates 75 and 16, the Macon Film Festival will celebrating its 16th annual event with a hybrid festival featuring both in-person and virtual screenings and events. The in-person festival will take place in Macon, Georgia August 19–22, 2021 with film screenings at the historic Douglass Theatre, Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and in the Mark Smith Planetarium at the Museum of Arts & Sciences. The virtual festival is scheduled for August 26–29 on the Macon Film Festival channel hosted by Film Festival Flix.

Over 85 films from around the world are slated to be showcased during the hybrid festival. This year’s list of official selection films includes Narrative Feature, Documentary, Narrative Shorts, LGBTQ Shorts, Student Shorts, Music and Fulldome. The 2021 lineup also features multiple Georgia Made blocks including two Macon filmmaker showcases.

"After a successful virtual festival in 2020, we are excited for the opportunity to be back in person as well as continuing to provide a virtual option for our audience,” said festival programmer Tabitha Lynne Walker. “With thought provoking documentaries, impactful shorts, entertaining features and immersive fulldome content, this year's collection of official selection films has a little something for everyone.”
