This year, Cox Communications is honored to recognize a special group of students in Middle Georgia as Cox Inspirational Student Heroes. Schools in Macon-Bibb County were invited to nominate one student hero to be recognized. Twenty-nine students are being celebrated for having overcome extreme hardships in their lives, all while maintaining a positive attitude and inspiring those around them. Due to the pandemic, the special awards ceremony could not be held in person again this year, so a virtual video has been produced.

“Recognizing these Cox Inspirational Student Heroes is always one of our favorite ways to give back to the community,” said Bonnie Lopez-Crowe, market vice president for Cox Middle Georgia. “These students remind us that even as we face challenges in our lives, we still have an influence on those around us. They deserve to be celebrated and honored for being an inspiration to others. We salute all of this year’s heroes.”

Since its inception in 1993, the Cox Inspirational Heroes program has recognized more than 3,000 incredible students from Lafayette, Louisiana to Gainesville, FL. All Cox Heroes received a Certificate of Achievement and engraved medallion from Cox. In addition, a special television program has been created to celebrate the students. The show is airing in July on YurView, Cox Channel 96 as well as YouTube.

Congratulations to all of our 2021 Cox Inspirational Student Heroes.
