Middle Georgia Community Food Bank Welcomes Three New Agency Partners

Middle Georgia Community Food Bank welcomes Rosa’s Food Pantry in Hawkinsville, Christ Chapel in Unadilla, and Bethlehem Baptist Church in Byromville as its newest agency partners. These partners will operate food pantries in their local communities. Because each community is different, having workers and volunteers live and work locally will allow the pantries to best serve its people.

Having these agencies in Pulaski and Dooly Counties open each week will provide consistent access to food for our neighbors in need. “Agency partners are vital in making sure we eliminate food insecurities in all Middle Georgia,” says PJ Sardoma, Director of Development.
Funding received from Feeding America allows MGCFB the opportunity to invest in some of the rural counties in our area without adequate partner agencies to match the need for food assistance. With this support, the food bank provided new storage units, commercial coolers, commercial freezers, along with the training of staff and volunteers. “Together in our partnership, we can reduce the number of people going to bed hungry or waking up wondering when their next meal is,” adds Mike Reeves, Agency Advocate.
